I went with Ilford's Kidney car idea to get rid of my car. Not because it was the right thing to do, but because "Kidney Car" is one of my favorite Aqua Teen Hunger Force episodes.
I called GEICO today to cancel my insurance policy. The lady on the phone is all "Wow, you've been with us for 12 years", and "You're breaking up with us and our families at Christmas time", and "I hope you'll find a new car soon so you can get back together with us", and "We'll miss serving you", and on and on. She also mentioned at some point that she was all doped up on Dayquil. All in all it was surprisingly touching and I felt like a sad panda when I got off the phone. *sob*
In other news, I'm at work, with no pressure to accomplish anything for a week or so. Meetings are done, people are gone, etc, etc. It's not like I'm even on the clock or anything, why the fuck am I still here? |

Finally got around to watching the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie. Most enjoyable. And...it may have one of the best opening scenes ever. Enjoy!

And it wasn't set on fire or beaten with baseball bats or anything.
Just a broken window and a damaged steering column like when it was broken into back in August. My settlement then payed for a new steering column but I replaced it with a used one and broke even after the deductable. So this may turn out ok. I have to go down to the towing place tomorrow (public transportation...yay!) so they can release my car to GEICO. Then it will be towed and repaired and hopefully I will have my car back next week.
Also I'm currently addicted to 24 and X-files and watching both series all the way through. Personally, I'd like to see Jack Bauer in some of the X-files episodes - Mulder doesn't torture people enough...LOL!

~*~ Busy day at school. I writing up 2 powerpoint presentations for a 8am meeting tomorrow morning. One is detailing my current research activities. The other is a homework assignment style summary of internal CDF note 8396: Search for New Heavy Baryons Σb and Σb* in the Two Track Trigger Data Using 1 fb-1. The report is 113 pages so I probably won't finish all that today.
~*~ Medication madness: I'm currently taking 2 antidepressants, an mood stabilizer, an anti-anxiety med, 2 high blood pressure meds, and an antibiotic for an ear infection. Today I feel about the best I have in a couple of months so, uh, yay for psychochemisty!
~*~ Chugging away at the WoW during my free time. I decided to powerlevel up a priest since our mighty group of 5 only has one primary healer. Powerhouses like the mighty Rhyme don't get to share in all the 5-man fun. I've got a new powerleveling guide. It rocks! I did 22 to 27 quite easily last night. Should hit 30 tonight with no problem.
~*~ The snow is starting to melt meaning there will soon be much dripping in my hallway. Trashcans and towels are in place. All is well.
~*~ For some unknown reason, I'm not sleeping in my bed anymore. I'm sleeping on my leather loveseat instead. I don't know...it's just comfy!
~*~ One of my doctors told me I'm overdue for a tetanus shot so I'll do that Monday morning when I go for therapy. Is it weird that I like needles. I find getting shots and having blood samples taken kind of exciting. /shrug
~*~ Been thinking a lot about my research career. I'm not doing what I want to do for a living. If I could do it over I would have gone to grad school in math. Physics is interesting, but I don't enjoy the research part of it. I just want to sit around and work weird math problems all day instead of debugging computer code and analyzing graphs of data. I think I'll go ahead and get the physics Ph.D so I can at least get some decent paying work (mainly to help get rid of all this crazy debt I've accrued) then maybe I can work on a math Ph.D part time. I think I'd really enjoy being a math professor at some cool university.
